‘Come Home’ was the first song Éimear composed in 2006.

At the time, Éimear was part of a brilliant and highly respected seven-piece Irish/country/folk band based in North-West England called The Bogtrotters, performing alongside lead singer Tim Flaherty.

Éimear regularly performed throughout the UK with the band as their lead violinist and backing vocalist. During this period, the band also toured the UK’s top theatres with the Essence of Ireland music and dance show.

Tim, the band’s lead singer, had achieved great success in the US country music charts during the 1970s with his band Poacher.

The Bogtrotters were recording their album in a top Warrington recording studio when Éimear was offered some studio time to record her first solo composition, ‘Come Home’—a song written within a single evening.

The talented musicians who performed on the track were fellow band members: W.M., L.W., V.P., and M.W. (who also engineered the recording).

Due to limited studio time, there was little opportunity to experiment with arrangement or undertake detailed mixing—hence the song’s richly layered and instrumentally full sound.

The video concept came from an exceptionally creative Warrington-based producer whose vision gave it a mysterious and eerie aesthetic.

“The setting and imagery within the video remind me of Queen’s University in Belfast,” adds Éimear.

Éimear has since composed many new songs and instrumentals, which will be available on this website soon.
